FAQ
What people often ask before an introductory call.
Answers to the most common questions about working together, fees, contracts, regions and industries.
About working together
How does working with a commercial agent actually work?
You contract me to mediate or conclude business in your name. You retain full control over prices, terms and contracts — I am the local sales partner and work according to the rules of the Austrian Commercial Agents Act (HVertrG).
What does a typical process look like?
Intro call (free, non-binding), market check, agreement on scope and terms, active sales work, regular reporting.
How many clients do you work with at the same time?
Selectively. I avoid conflicts of interest and only take on mandates I can genuinely serve well.
Fees and commission
Do you work on a fee or commission basis?
Both are possible and common. A small fixed retainer to cover operational effort plus performance-based commission is a frequent combination. The exact structure is agreed individually.
What does an introductory call cost?
Nothing. A first meeting is free of charge and non-binding.
How long does a typical mandate last?
Market entries are rarely wrapped up in three months. Realistically 6 to 18 months for robust results, depending on industry, region and product complexity.
Contract and legal
What contractual form does the collaboration take?
Usually a commercial agency contract under Austrian HVertrG. For market analyses or representation services, work or consulting contracts may also be used.
Do I retain control over end-customer contracts as the manufacturer?
Yes. A commercial agent mediates — the contract conclusion is made by you as the principal. You define terms and prices.
Regions and languages
Which regions are you active in?
Focus on Vienna, Lower Austria, Burgenland, Styria and Hungary. Upper Austria and the wider DACH region depending on the project.
Which languages do you communicate in?
German, Hungarian (native language) and English.
Industries
Which industries do you genuinely understand?
Industry and B2B manufacturing, organic and eco food, renewable energy, cleaning agents and cosmetics, print and promotional materials, recycling products and sustainable packaging.
What if my industry is not on the list?
Get in touch anyway. If I don't have relevant experience, I'll say so openly — and suggest other avenues if needed.
Confidentiality
How do you handle confidential information?
Enquiries, market entry plans and terms are treated as strictly confidential as a matter of course. For sensitive mandates I'm happy to sign an NDA.
